Software Providers
The names behind the games. Game studios don’t run casinos, they license their slot, table, and live-dealer content to operators. Knowing who builds your favourite games helps you find them at any casino that carries that studio. AGCO Ontario and (from July 2026) AGLC Alberta require studios to be on the Registered Gaming-Related Suppliers list; offshore operators have no such requirement.
Available across all Canadian regions
On the AGCO Registered Gaming-Related Suppliers list, available at most AGCO Ontario operators, expected at future AGLC Alberta operators, and live at offshore casinos serving the rest of Canada.

Evolution
The dominant live-dealer studio worldwide. Lightning Roulette, Crazy Time, Monopoly Live, Dream Catcher and most live-blackjack and live-baccarat tables are theirs. Acquired NetEnt and Red Tiger.

NetEnt
Swedish studio, now part of the Evolution group. Built the modern video-slot template. Starburst is still the most-played slot in the world.

Microgaming
One of the oldest names in online casino software. Operates the largest progressive-jackpot network in the world, Mega Moolah has paid out record CA$20M+ jackpots.

Pragmatic Play
Maltese studio, prolific output. Slots are bright, high-volatility and bonus-buy-friendly. Pragmatic Play Live is a credible Evolution alternative.

Play’n GO
Swedish studio known for atmospheric themed slots and an unusually high hit rate of fan-favourite titles. Book of Dead is the most-played slot in many regulated markets.

Playtech
London-listed studio with one of the largest catalogues in the industry. Runs slots, table games, branded titles (Age of the Gods Marvel/DC series) and a full live-dealer studio competitive with Evolution.

Big Time Gaming
Australian studio that invented Megaways, the mechanic where each spin generates a random number of symbols per reel, giving up to 117,649 ways to win. Megaways is now licensed by dozens of other studios.

Yggdrasil
Maltese studio with a distinctive Nordic-mythology aesthetic and high production values. Strong on cinematic slots and bonus-feature design.

IGT
International Game Technology, the studio behind a generation of land-based slots (Cleopatra, Wheel of Fortune). Brings legacy IP to online players.

Red Tiger
Part of the Evolution group. Daily Jackpots feature lets players win tied jackpots that must drop before a set time each day, a popular alternative to traditional progressives.

Push Gaming
London studio with a reputation for high-volatility math models and clean visual design. Razor Shark is one of the most-streamed high-volatility slots online.

Quickspin
Stockholm studio acquired by Playtech. Story-driven slots with strong art direction and Achievements, an early gamification layer that other studios have copied.

ELK Studios
Stockholm studio focused on innovative reel mechanics. Their X-iter feature lets players buy into specific bonus levels, a model many studios now use.

Nolimit City
Maltese studio acquired by Evolution, known for extreme-volatility slots aimed at high-roller streamer audiences. xWays / xNudge mechanics are widely licensed.

Hacksaw Gaming
Maltese studio that exploded into mainstream rotation between 2022 and 2025. Slots are streamer-friendly: short sessions, high max win, instant-action bonus rounds.

Relax Gaming
Maltese studio behind one of the strongest single-series runs in the industry. The Money Train / Money Cart sequence and Dream Drop progressive jackpot network are now top-tier draws.

Thunderkick
Independent Swedish studio with a distinct cartoon-illustration art style. Smaller catalogue than the giants but a high hit rate on cult-favourite titles.

Blueprint Gaming
UK studio owned by the Gauselmann group. Strong on land-based-to-online brand conversions and TV/film tie-in slots, plus original franchises with Megaways variants.

Wazdan
Maltese studio whose Volatility Levels feature lets players adjust the in-game variance of compatible slots. Heavy catalogue of fruit-machine and themed video slots.

iSoftBet
Acquired by IGT in 2022, now part of its Game Aggregation business. Mix of in-house slots and a large third-party content marketplace used by many operators.

Stakelogic
Dutch studio behind a fast-growing slot catalogue and the Super Stake bet-multiplier feature. Stakelogic Live runs a competitive live-dealer studio.

Habanero
Manila-headquartered studio with global distribution. Asian-themed slots are a specialty (Koi Gate, 108 Heroes) alongside Western titles.

Ezugi
Live-dealer brand inside the Evolution group, distinct from the Evolution-branded studio. Focus on Indian-, Latin- and Spanish-market tables (Andar Bahar, Teen Patti, Ultimate Andar Bahar).
Offshore casinos only (rest of Canada)
Not on the AGCO Registered list. Common at Curacao, Malta and Kahnawake-licensed casinos serving Canadian players outside Ontario.

US-market-style studio specialising in 3D cinematic slots. Catalogue runs heavy at Curacao operators and rarely appears at regulated CA-province operators.

Realtime Gaming (RTG)
Long-established US-style studio, dominant at offshore casinos targeting the US/CA market. Random-jackpot slots (Aztec’s Millions, Megasaur) are its calling card.

Rival Gaming
Offshore-only studio with a long catalogue of i-Slots (interactive story-driven slots) and standard video slots aimed at the US/CA grey market.

Nucleus Gaming
Small offshore-market studio that powers a handful of US/CA-facing Curacao casinos. Catalogue is volume rather than name recognition.

Booming Games
Smaller European studio with a focused, fast-paced slot catalogue. Common in offshore-facing aggregator packages.
How to read the studio name on a game
-
The provider sets the math
RTP, volatility, max win and bonus mechanics are decided by the studio, not the casino. Two casinos running the same Pragmatic Play slot offer identical odds.
-
The casino sets the lobby
What changes between casinos is the game catalogue, how easy it is to find a specific title, and (occasionally) which RTP variant of a slot they license. Some operators license a 94% variant where 96% is the studio default.
-
Check RTP in-game
Look for the (i) info icon in the game’s paytable. The advertised RTP shown there is what the operator licensed, sometimes lower than the headline number you saw elsewhere.
-
Live dealer is a separate question
Most live-dealer content at Canadian-facing casinos is Evolution. Pragmatic Play Live and Playtech are alternatives. Other live-dealer studios exist but coverage is thin.
